OUR APPROACH
Starting in the construction business nearly 30 years ago, we had one simple goal: help people create their dream space. For most of us, our homes are at the center of so many memories. Home is where we have shared a life with a loved one, raised a family, celebrated holidays and so many other wonderful things.
We treat each customer’s home as if it were our own and each customer as our most important. Formax is grounded on simple principles of treating people right, using our God-given talents to help others, and never taking lightly the privilege of working in someone’s home.
OUR STORY
As a young adult, I had the opportunity to watch and learn from some great mentors. The one thing that was instilled in me was to always treat each person as the most important because ~ well, they are. When I decided to start my own business, in the initial meeting with customers it was not unusual to hear stories of prior problems with other contractors, projects gone astray, or other frustrations and disappointments. We were young and determined, determined that we were going to change the perception of the industry and the experience people had, one customer at a time.
Starting nearly 30 years ago, we grew our organization on solid principles. We’re humbled to say that today our number one source of business is customer referral.
MEET THE OWNER
I’m Ken Brandau, the owner of Formax Construction. I’m blessed to have been married for the last 25 years to my best friend, Tina. Together, we have raised two wonderful children that we have had the awesome opportunity to watch grow into young adults. We live in Brownstown, Michigan in home that I designed and built over 20 years ago. Of all of the projects I’ve been a part of throughout the years, I’m most humbled by the opportunity to build two separate church buildings. You can find me outdoors, enjoying an active lifestyle with my family and friends all year round.
I started this business nearly 30 years ago with the desire to help people create their dream homes. I was guided by a desire to set Formax apart from many others in our industry. We were grounded in solid principles that started with treating people right. We have done everything from installing interior handrails to renovating 50,000+ sq ft commercial spaces, ground up new home builds to installing interior doors, we’ve done it all. Thousands of renovations later and we still wake up everyday humbled to get to help someone create their vision.
